By now we all know the happiest athlete from Curaçao. Our local hero, Churandy Martina. Besides winning medals nowadays he does not only run but he also stars in different commercials. Today I would like to highlight his latest appearance in the music video “Rise” of Katty Perry.

Nadia Gribaldie een mevrouw met een vaste baan heeft een hobby. Haar hobby is het maken van handtassen van recycled jeans. En ze heeft meer talenten zoals naaien en het bewerken van T-shirts. Iets wat heel populair is tijdens feesten en evenementen met een T-shirt. Maar later meer over de T-shirts.

De tropen is synoniem voor exotisch en verfrissende vruchten. Over het hele eiland zijn er verschillende standjes waar je deze kunt kopen. Wat nog handiger is, is om deze sappen lekker in je eigen ijskast te hebben. Lekker vers, zonder melk (met de kenmerkelijke uitzondering) met alleen natuurlijke ingrediënten.
Erwin Louis een gepensioneerde energieke man met een luide stem is jaren geleden samen met een kennis begonnen om in het weekend sappen te maken. Hij verkoopt ze met Johnny Cakes na kerkdiensten.

Curacao has her own artesian Gelato since April 2010 made by IJSCOWD. IJSCOWD prepares Italian gelato with regional products in the original, traditional manner.

It is weird and wonderful to look back on a year full of new amazing experiences. 2015 is the year that I started my internship on Curacao. I visited many lovely places, kind people and eye-opening experiences made me a lot ‘richer’. This challenging period also made me realize how lucky I am having such a great supportive family and lots of friends. Even though some friends and family travelled to Curacao to visit me, I was all by myself during Christmas holidays.
